Who’s Teaching?
Hi! I’m Samantha, a holistic birth doula, trauma informed hypnotherapist, and couple’s space-holder dedicated to helping families cultivate a connected, peaceful birth & postpartum journey.
Over four years of teaching classic Hypnobirthing and supporting over 100+ families, I noticed that alongside hypnobirthing tools, the next most important aspect of preparation was partner/spouse connection. So I created a class that merged Hypnobirthing tools with empathy-based communication (NVC) to support the transformative process of birth & postpartum.
This course is founded on my deepest beliefs that instinctive birth has the power to strengthen women, partners, and humanity as a whole.
✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

Hypnobirthing is as much a philosophy as it is a technique – it’s a rewarding, relaxing, stress-free method of birthing based on the belief that babies and mothers can have a gentle, calm, and joyful birth experience.
Hypnobirthing prepares mother and her partner physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally for an easier, more comfortable, stress-free birth.
Through a well-thought-out program of deep relaxation, self-hypnosis, special breathing techniques, visualizations, affirmations, and physiological education, Hypnobirthing returns to a woman the art of birthing in a way that allows her to summon her natural birthing instincts and to birth her baby safely and with ease.
Our Birth Harmony class also provides evidence based birthing education with couples bonding support.

Our HypnoBirthing Class, “Birth Harmony,” is not a classical HypnoBirthing International Course, though heavily emphasizes the power of hypnosis in the birthing process.
We’ve created our own hypnotracks, preparation manuals, and program to support you in confidently preparing for your birth.
The ways our course differs from HypnoBirthing International is:
1. We offer a few more tools for attuning our brain frequencies to receive the positive affirmations in our relaxation practice.
2. We bring in practical exercises for partner bonding using meditation, and non-violent communication frameworks to support preparing your partner bond before baby’s arrival.
3. We offer week-by-week assignments to reduce the overwhelm that comes with researching and preparing for the birth of your baby, including postpartum suggestions.
Lastly, we also have a podcast with free hypnobirthing tracks and interviews with birth experts.

It’s best to begin this course in your second trimester (14 to 26 Weeks) for optimal preparation time.

-
Yes! It’s been a dream of mine since becoming a doula to make birth education more accessible for those who can’t afford it. If you’re a medicaid card holder, we offer this class for FREE. Email samanthamarvels@gmail.com for more information.
-
You’ll have access to the course for 1 year! In that time, there will likely be updates made to the course, as we’re always looking to improve.
-
Our program is suitable to those of all faiths. We do refer to spiritual aspects of birth, but we do not reference religious text or point to any particular faith. We also encourage connecting to the Earth and discuss grounding in the elements, though not in a religious way.
-
You’d assume correctly! We talk about our yonis, pelvic floor, and navigating sex postpartum. In some of our bonus resources, we offer resources from sexological bodyworkers, womb healers, and pelvic floor PTs, but no discussions are “explicit” (in the event you have little ears around.)
-
In my course, I do use traditional terms like “mom & dad” and “woman/mother” - simply because 99% of the parents I’ve supported over the years have been and I created my course to support them. While I believe this material could support any birthing support team, this content will likely most resonate with father and mother roles.

In our class, we discuss that pain is a subjective experience. That said, we generally avoid ever using the word “pain” to describe birth, nor do we say the goal is to have a “pain free” birth. The goal instead is to feel at peace, empowered or autonomous during and after your birth, allowing the sensations to be whatever they will be along the way.
